Trading
Updated 6 October 2026, 3 min readThe News tab puts market headlines next to your chart. Each line is one story. Click it for the summary, then open the full article at the publisher. The tab sits under the chart in eTrader Web, after Calendar.
The sources
eTrader reads the public feeds of 23 publishers and central banks:
| Kind | Sources |
|---|---|
| Markets and business | Bloomberg, CNBC, WSJ, MarketWatch, Financial Times, Investing.com, investingLive, Nasdaq, Seeking Alpha, Business Insider, Fortune |
| General news | The Economist, BBC, The Guardian, New York Times |
| Oil and crypto | OilPrice, CoinDesk, Cointelegraph |
| Central banks | Federal Reserve, ECB, Bank of England, Bank of Japan, Bank of Canada |
The newest headlines are at the top. A story that two feeds carry shows once.
Reading a line
- Time. The day of the month, then the time to the second, on your own clock. 06 13:02:45 is the 6th at 13:02:45.
- Source. The publisher or the central bank.
- Headline. In bold, followed by the start of the preview.
A headline less than 15 minutes old has its time in blue.
Read a story
Click a line and the story opens in an eTrader window. It shows the source, the full date and time, the headline and the summary.
The button at the bottom reads Read on and the source's name, for example Read on Bloomberg. It opens the full story at the publisher, in a new browser tab.
Close the window with the X, the Escape key or a click outside it.
Search and older headlines
Search headline or source finds a word in the headline, the preview or the source name. Type ECB for the bank's releases, or gold for every story that mentions it. The count at the right of the bar shows how many headlines match.
Load More at the bottom of the list adds the next 50 older headlines.
How fresh it is
While the tab is open, the list refreshes every minute. After you press Load More, it holds still so you do not lose your place. Search again or come back to the tab to see the latest.
If the news cannot load, the tab says so and tries again on its own.
