Your eTrader ID

One personal login for eTrader AI, eTrader Code and your bots: signing in with an email code, connecting trading accounts, and deleting it.

In short

  • An eTrader ID is for eTrader AI, eTrader Code and the terminal's Bots window. Trading itself does not need one.
  • There is no password. Each sign in uses a six-digit code sent to your email.
  • Sign in once and eTrader AI, eTrader Code and the ID page all open. Sign out on one and you are out of all.
  • An account can be connected to one eTrader ID at a time.
  • Deleting the ID removes your files and AI Bots, never your trading accounts.

Your account

Updated 7 October 2026, 4 min read

An eTrader ID is your own personal login with eTrader. You need one for eTrader Code, eTrader AI and the Bots window in the terminal. You do not need one to trade. The trading terminal signs in with the account your Broker or prop firm issued, exactly as before. The ID is where your robots, indicators and AI Bots live, and where you link the trading accounts they are allowed to use.

What an eTrader ID holds

  • Your eTrader Code projects and files. They are saved to the ID, so they open on every computer you sign in from, in the browser at code.etraderweb.com.
  • Your AI Bots from eTrader AI, the model keys you saved there, and the API keys you created under API and MCP.
  • The list of trading accounts you have connected to it.

It never holds money and it never places an order. Trades always go through the trading account itself, and the account stays with your Broker.

Sign in with a code, not a password

An eTrader ID has no password. Open id.etraderweb.com, or the ID button at the top of the eTrader home page, or the sign in screen of eTrader Code or eTrader AI:

  1. Type your email address and press Email Me a Code.
  2. A six-digit code arrives by email. It expires in ten minutes.
  3. Type the code. The first time, you can also give your name, which is optional. Press Continue.

There is no separate sign up. The first code you confirm creates the ID. If the code does not arrive, Send a New Code sends another, and Back takes you back to change the address.

Because every code goes to your email, the address is the key to the ID. Use one you will always be able to read.

One sign-in for every eTrader app

Your eTrader ID signs in once for eTrader AI, eTrader Code, the ID page and the Bots window in the terminal. Sign in on any of them and the others open signed in, in the same browser. You stay signed in until you sign out, as long as you open an eTrader app at least once a month.

Signing out works the same way. Sign Out on one of them signs you out of all of them. To sign out on other computers and phones too, use Sign Out on All Other Devices on the Security tab.

Trading accounts are separate. The terminal signs in to each one with its own Login and password, signing out of your ID leaves them signed in, and signing out of a trading account leaves your ID signed in.

The ID page

Once you are signed in, the page at id.etraderweb.com has three tabs.

Account

Your name, your email address, the ID number and the date it was created. Change email moves the ID to a new address: a code is sent to the new address, and the change is made once you confirm it. An address can belong to one eTrader ID only.

Trading Accounts

The accounts connected to your ID, with a search box that finds them by Login, name or Broker. To add one, press Connect an Account, search for your Broker or Server, choose the Server, and type the account Login and its trader password. The investor password will not connect an account.

Connecting proves the account is yours. It does not move it: the account stays with your Broker and the terminal signs in to it as before. The password is checked and not kept with the connection.

A trading account can be connected to one eTrader ID at a time. If you connect an account that is already on another ID, it moves to yours, and the other ID loses it, together with any AI Bots there that used it.

You can also connect an account from the terminal. Open Bots from the account menu and press Connect This Account. No password is asked there, because you are already signed in to the account.

Disconnect removes the link between the account and your ID. The account, its balance and its history are untouched, and you can connect it again at any time with its Login and password.

Security

How you sign in, a Sign Out on All Other Devices button, and Recent activity: every sign in and every change made on the ID. If you see something there you did not do, change your email address and sign out everywhere else. The same tab is where you delete the ID.

Deleting an eTrader ID

At the bottom of the Security tab, Delete my eTrader ID sends a code to your email to confirm it is you. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes the ID, its email address and name, its activity, its eTrader Code files, its AI Bots and their account links, the AI model keys you saved and your API keys.

Your trading accounts are not deleted. They belong to your Broker, and you keep signing in to them from the terminal as usual. Deleting your account and data covers demo accounts too.

Do I need one?

If you only trade by hand in the terminal, no. You need an eTrader ID when you want to write or convert a robot in eTrader Code, build an AI Bot in eTrader AI, or run either of them on one of your accounts. It takes an email address and a code, and you can delete it whenever you like.

Questions

Do I need an eTrader ID to trade?

No. The terminal signs in with the account your Broker or prop firm issued. The ID is for eTrader Code, eTrader AI and running bots on your accounts.

Do I have to sign in to eTrader AI and eTrader Code separately?

No. It is one sign-in. Sign in on one and eTrader AI, eTrader Code and the ID page open signed in, in the same browser.

I signed out of eTrader Code. Why am I signed out of eTrader AI too?

Signing out of your eTrader ID on one app signs you out of all of them. Your trading accounts in the terminal stay signed in.

I did not get the sign in code. What now?

Check the spam folder, then press Send a New Code. Each code expires ten minutes after it is sent. If the address is wrong, Back takes you to change it.

Can I connect an account with the investor password?

No. Connecting proves the account is yours, so it needs the trader password. The password is checked and not kept with the connection.

Does deleting my eTrader ID close my trading accounts?

No. Only the link between the accounts and your ID is removed. The accounts, their balances and their history stay with your Broker.
