Updated 6 October 2026, 3 min readRate decisions, jobs numbers and inflation figures can move a price in seconds. The Calendar tab lists this week's scheduled releases, so you see them coming. It sits in the panel under the chart in eTrader Web, after Alerts.
Open the calendar
Click Calendar under the chart. The tab opens on Today and scrolls to the next event, under its day heading.
The Balance, Equity and Margin line stays at the top, as on every tab.
Reading a line
Each event is one line. Lines are grouped by day, under a heading such as Today, Tuesday, 6 October.
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Impact bar | Red for High, yellow for Medium, gray for Low. Bank holidays are gray too. |
| Time | When the event is due, on your own clock. A bank holiday reads All Day. |
| Countdown | Time left, such as in 2h 15m. Empty once the event has passed. |
| Currency | The currency the release is about. |
| Event | The name of the release. |
| Actual | The result, once it is published. |
| Forecast | The figure the market expects. |
| Previous | The last figure. |
The next event is highlighted, with its countdown in blue. Past events fade to gray.
Times follow your computer's clock and time zone. A trader in London and one in Tokyo see the same release at their own local times.
Filters
The bar above the list narrows it down:
- Today, Tomorrow and This Week. Today is the default. A day runs from midnight to midnight on your clock.
- High, Medium and Low. Each one turns on or off. One always stays on. Low includes bank holidays.
- All Currencies. Pick USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, NZD or CNY to see one currency.
- Search event or currency. Type part of a name, such as CPI, or a currency code.
When nothing matches, the tab says No matching events. On a quiet day it says No events today and suggests This Week.
Where the events come from
The events come from the ForexFactory calendar for the current week. Next week's events appear once that week starts.
The list refreshes every few minutes while the tab is open. The countdowns tick every minute. An Actual figure can take a few minutes to appear after the release.
If the calendar cannot load, the tab says so and tries again on its own.
Around a release
Prices can jump and spreads can widen in the seconds around a High impact event. A pending order or a stop can then fill away from its level. Pending orders explained covers how fills work. A price alert tells you when the market reaches a level you care about.
